Scuttlebrook Wake update

Scuttlebrook Wake is on June 1st this year, and we will publish our full programme in the May edition. For now, here are the latest updates from your committee.

Window Competition

This year’s theme is:
“100 years of Disney”
which we hope will generate lots of great ideas for the competition. Forms will be posted along the parade route in April with details of what you need to do. In the meantime, why not get planning?

Fancy Dress and Floats

We would like to make an early call to start thinking about entering the fancy dress parade and competition this year. It’s a fantastic part of the day’s proceedings with no fee, no theme and no forms to fill out. Just turn up to enjoy the atmosphere and the chance to win some cash prizes, cups and awards. Whether you are a veteran fancy dress competitor, or someone who has never considered it before, why not start chatting to friends and family about what you could do to get involved this year? Details of when and where to be will be in next month’s edition.

The Scuttlemarket

This year will see the inclusion of a small market on the High Street between the fairground and the live music outside the Lygon Arms. There are still a few pitches available, so if you are interested in having one, then please contact our Vice-Chairman, Jos Robinson, at: scuttlemarket@gmail.com.

Sponsorship and Fundraising

Putting on Scuttlebrook each year has become a more expensive endeavour, especially with the addition of the live music festival. It’s important to take the chance to remind the community that these acts are not free, and indeed there are a whole host of other costs to the day including, by popular demand, the return of the Cheltenham Pipe Band!
A big thankyou to all those who have donated or agreed to sponsor this year’s event. We will announce our sponsors next month and would like to thank them in advance. If you would like to sponsor Scuttlebrook Wake, then please contact our Vice Chairman, Scott Gill, at scottmartingill@aol.co.uk to find out more.
Or, if you would like to donate towards Scuttlebrook, please visit follow the links to the donations page. Thank you for your support!
