Scuttlebrook 2022: Committee Update

Scuttlebrook Wake Update

Scuttlebrook Wake is on Saturday, June 4th this year and after the last 2 years, the committee is looking forward to celebrating the day properly again. This year will be a particularly special occasion as the Wake falls during the long bank holiday weekend that will mark the Queen’s platinum jubilee. Along with our friends on the Dover’s Games committee, we are working hard to ensure the community has a chance to enjoy itself after the last 2 years of restrictions.

Plans are already well underway for Scuttlebrook this year and over the next few months, we will be using the Bulletin, Facebook and our website to tell you all more about them. For now, here are a few pictures from 2019 to remind you all of what a great day it is.

Fancy Dress and Floats!

The committee would also like to take this early opportunity to encourage businesses, groups and individuals to consider entering the fancy dress parade for this year’s Scuttlebrook Wake. In particular, the floats are a really important part of the day and contribute to making it a successful celebration. Floats are also a great way to advertise your business or group and above all, it is a fun way to spend the day. There is no fee and the theme of the float is entirely up to the entrants.

We will be further promoting floats and the walking fancy dress as the months go on but, in the meantime, we would like to thank those who have taken part in recent years and encourage them and any potential new entries to get planning soon!

For those new to the community, please use our website and Facebook pages to find out more about Scuttlebrook and how you can get involved on the day.
